SPRINGFIELD, IL- Paula M. Daily, 71, of Springfield, died at 7:02 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born June 7, 1943 in Virden, IL to Paul Wendell and Mae Marlyn Nickel Bettis.

She is survived by one daughter, Cindy Lee (Joseph P. Crowe) McFarland of Athens; one son, Robert Paul McFarland of Petersburg; seven grandchildren, "The Magnificent 7", Robert Paul McFarland II, Peyton Mae Crowe, Luke Evan and Jade Erin McFarland; Ryne Patrick Crowe, Logan Lane McFarland and Cameron Reagan Crowe; one great grandson, Finley Daniel McFarland; one sister, Sheila Ann Bahlow of Mt. Airy, MD; one niece, Brenda Bahlow Smith; one nephew, Robert Jay Bahlow and several cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Clarence Jacob (Jay) Bettis and Robert Paul Bettis.

Paula was a member of Virden Christian Church, IFT Union (Illinois Federation of Teachers) and past member of the VFW Post 755 auxiliary. She earned an Associates of Business Management from Lincoln Land Community College. She was the owner of Paula's Cake Topper and she holds a patent for a cake handler. She was a Library Technician Specialist at the Illinois State Library retiring in 2008.

Memorial Gathering: 4:00-6:00 p.m., Monday, September 15, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.

Memorial Service: 6:00 p.m., Monday, September 15, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Sue Young officiating.

Burial: 10 am Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
