Thomas S. Gooding
DEER CREEK - Thomas S. Gooding, 75, of Deer Creek, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Tom was born on February 11, 1942, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Jack and Velma Steele Gooding. He married Mary A. Hennings Reitzel. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Velma Gooding of Springfield; two daughters, Tammy (Kelly) Cito of Littleton, Colorado, and Tracy Castle of Princeville; three sons, Jason (Annette) Reitzel of Villa Park, Adam (Ching) Reitzel of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Jon (Poyer) Reitzel of Maastricht, Netherlands; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack (Judy) Gooding of Springfield and Garry (Sarah) Gooding of Santa Rosa, California.
Tom was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
Tom was a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local #136 out of Bloomington. He worked in HVAC over 40 years. He also owned his own business.
Tom enjoyed a full life. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and barn kids.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Haensel Funeral Home in Mackinaw is assisting the family with arrangements. There will be no services. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
