Evelyn “Roberta” Groth, 78, of Rochester, formerly of Springfield died at 7:22 pm Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Wyndcrest Assisted Living. She was born March 4, 1943 in Springfield to Robert J. and Evelyn (Maurer) Groth, Sr.
She is survived by a sister, Doris (James) Schrock of St. Charles, MO; two brothers, Ernie Groth of Springfield, and Emil “Buddy” (Pam) Groth of Temecula, CA and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, R. John Groth II and sister, Laura A. Groth.
Roberta retired from the Illinois Department of Revenue after 38 years of service. She later worked at UIS for about 8 years.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield.
Graveside Service: 12:00 pm, Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Pastor Greg Busboom officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Connie Jean Lane (Bounds)
Roberta and I were class mates at Lanphier High. She was a very nice person. Had a few classes with her. Roberta will be missed by all. Rest in peace.

I didn' t know Roberta well but I remember her as very sweet and kind to everyone.
