Marilyn Jean Chernis (Kirkland)

TELLICO PLAINS, TN- Marilyn J. Kirkland-Duncan, 71, passed away peacefully at 8:15 p.m. Oct. 9, 2015. She was born Nov. 28, 1943 in Litchfield, IL to Esther and Joseph J. Chernis Sr. She currently resided in Tellico Plains, TN.

She married Daniel Kirkland in 1961. He preceded her in death in 1989. She is survived by a daughter, Dawn (John) Kirkland-Paul of Springfield, son, Kelly (Andrea) Kirkland of Sherman, sister, Cheryl (Mike) Gibbons of Tellico Plains, TN, and brother, John Chernis of Sherman.

Cremation rites were accorded with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League.
