Springfield – Victoria L. Chimento, 17, of 917 ½ North 6th Street, died as a result of a boating accident Sunday July 30, 1961 on Lake Decatur. Miss Chimento was born December 11, 1943, in Springfield, the daughter of Joseph and Beviah Hohimer Chimento. Services at 9 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 1961 at St. Joseph’s Church, Rev Arthur Landroche, C.S.V, officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.

I considered Vicki a friend and have thought of her many times over the years. I remember specifically a long conversation with her in a booth in Coots shortly before we graduated. When we released the balloons at our Island Bay Yacht Club 45th reunion, I released two balloons. One of them was for Vicki.
