SPRINGFIELD, IL – Kathleen Kochman, 74, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.

She was born September 29, 1943, to William C. and Catherine A. (McDonough) Kochman. She was preceded in death by her parents and her companion of 30 years, Robert E. Ferguson.

Kathleen retired from Illinois Department of Revenue in 2005 after 35 years of service. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Franciscan Associates, where she was a sponsor and enjoyed mentoring new members. Kathleen was a volunteer with Meals-on-Wheels.

She is survived by her sister, Ruth (David) Young; nephew, Michael Young; honorary niece, Kimberly Young; nephews, David Young and Christopher Young; five great-nieces and nephews, Hailee, Logan, Jeremy, Robin and Carl; one great-great-nephew, Liam; and extended family, Matt Ferguson (Megan Bueschel) and Mark (Debbie) Ferguson, who are just a few of the many, many people Kathleen considered family and friends. She was always there to lend support when needed or just to hear a story or see pictures of what was going on in everyone’s life. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial Gathering: 10:00 a.m. until time of prayer service at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Reverend Manuel P. Cuizon officiating.
