Sandy kept a "beater" at the Bloomington airport back in AirTran days, and we'd occasionally coordinate our "Mom" visits. She always had her tote bag with the scary reflexology foot sticking out.
I descended on her at U of I totally unannounced one long ago day. She seemed glad to see me, got me a date that night and a place to sleep.
Sat right in front of her in typing class senior year. We were determined to get our 65-words-per-minute pin. No idea why.
She was fun, interesting, a good friend. I wish we'd stayed in touch.
Sandy, Jackie, Kathy, And I were a foursome from kindergarten through eighth grade at Ridgely. Miss Schaefer for kindergarten, Mrs. Moore, Miss McMasters, mrs. Dugger, Miss Culver, Mrs. Gibbs, mrs. plank, Mr. Lieberman, and Miss Culver again. Gosh, can't believe I remembered them all. We worked on The Christmas windows for Mrs. Plank, went to the Y Teen dances, walked down to Maskeys for our home ec supplies -- all together. But, Sandy and I had a special bond. We happen to have been born on the same day – July 2. She named us "twinies" so, up until a couple of years ago, one of us would call the other and wish us a happy birthday. She was in Atlanta and I was in Colorado. I have talked to Kathy and Jackie this week and we all mourn Sandy's passing God's speed, dear friend. We'll miss you.
Back in Grade School Ridgely Sandy was a good friend to alot of the North enders we had alot of laughs and fun together. Sandy rest in peace. Hope you and Linda may find each other up in Heaven
