Janet Steinhour, Age 82, of Springfield, died at Regency Care on February 5, 2026 at 9:44 P.M. She was born May 20, 1943 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy Bartlett Senalik. 

She married Richard H. “Dick” Steinhour on May 19, 1962.

She is survived by daughter, Julie (Larry) Davis of Springfield; son, Kevin (Tina) Steinhour of Tabernacle, NJ and five grandchildren, Stephanie Davis, Kylie (Nate) Lamb, Brooke, Jake, and Brett Steinhour.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, JoAnn Satterfield.

Janet was a member of St. Cabrini Church and was a Homemaker. She was a Samaritan volunteering in pastoral Care at St. John’s Hospital in the NICU. Janet enjoyed volunteering and helping the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis, where she would go to the convent and assist them with anything they needed. She had a passion for gardening and enjoyed being around the beautiful flowers. Above all, Janet loved and cherished spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed.

Graveside Service: 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Rev. Ramesh Matta officiating.
